Terms & Conditions1. Order Acceptance and Contract
- Contract Formation: No contract exists between you and The Cheese emporium ltd for the sale of any product until we have accepted your order and sent a confirmation email.
- Age Restrictions: You must be at least 18 years old to purchase any products containing alcohol. We reserve the right to request age verification upon delivery.
- Weights and Variations: Many of our cheeses are handmade and cut to order. Therefore, weights provided on the website are indicative, and slight variations may occur.
2. Pricing and Payment
- Prices: All prices are shown in Pounds Sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable.
- Payment Methods: We accept major credit/debit cards and secure online payments. Payment must be received in full before an order is dispatched.
3. Delivery and Quality
- Perishable Nature: As cheese is a perishable product, it must be delivered as quickly as possible, ideally overnight.
- Recipient Responsibility: It is your responsibility to ensure someone is available at the delivery address or that a safe place is designated. We cannot be held liable for the deterioration of goods if a delivery attempt is failed.
- Substitutions: If a specific cheese is unavailable, we may substitute it with a similar product of equal or greater value.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
- Perishable Goods Exception: Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, the standard 14-day "cooling-off" period does not apply to perishable items such as cheese.
- Damaged or Faulty Goods: If your order arrives damaged or is of unsatisfactory quality, you must notify us within 24 hours of receipt. We may require photographic evidence to process a refund or replacement.
- Order Cancellations: Cancellations for orders containing cut-to-order cheese may not be accepted once the cheese has been prepared for dispatch.
5. Health and Allergens
- Allergen Information: Mandatory allergen information (e.g., milk, nuts) is provided on our website and on product labels. Please review this carefully before purchasing.
- Storage: Upon delivery, cheese should be refrigerated immediately to ensure it remains fit for consumption.
6. Governing Law
